Where do you see yourself artistically or creatively a year from now? Having one year goals is so critically important. In fact, I felt so strongly about my one year goals that I begged Jen Kiaba to allow me to come up with her October blogging challenge. My perspective on my one year goals shifted when I became deeply invested in piecing together my Sony Alpha Female Creator-In Residence grant application. Spending two weeks and over 90 hours working on my application allowed me to examine my goals realistically. The majority remained the same but I came to terms with making finances a priority versus dreaming of studio space.

Where do I see myself ONE year from now?

I believe that having one year goals is so important. Last November, I began mapping out my goals for 2018 and after reading The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone I was completely fired up! I wrote out all of my 10x Goals in a blog and went to work. Granted, I let some goals fall by the wayside but I learned that I was on track to accomplish 3 of my biggest goals (highlighted below. Prior to reading the 10X Rule, I just wanted to be in one gallery but I’ve technically showed my work 10 times (if we count the Denartket)

So what would happen if we set our one years goals and actually went for them? I believe in the power of written intent. I can’t remember the last time I read ONE BOOK (it’s been a few YEARS). I haven’t been in an art gallery since my senior thesis exhibition IN college (2007) and I had never made a single dollar from my art before this year (I am not counting commercial photography in this equation).
Sometimes, our own lists can be really daunting and we need to categorize them by priority. If I had to pick my absolute top three goals from my new list they would be:
– 50 composite pieces in my portfolio
– Be in 12 exhibitions (group and solo)
– Sale of my first 20×20 limited edition print
